Winter Fun - 20/02/12

When Christmas came and went without any snow the staff of Ganton School were relieved. Who would want to go through the weeks of chaos that we endured at the end of 2010 when snow brought the city of Hull to a standstill and many of our Christmas activities were ruined? But on the other hand there is something very special about watching those flakes fall and, when there are enough to carpet the playground, the only thing to do is to get wrapped up and play. And that is exactly what has happened this year, with the roads relatively clear, the children were safely transported in to school and were able to enjoy the fresh air and the sunshine whilst they played in the snow. For some it didn't matter if their toes were tingling or if their fingers were freezing inside their soggy mittens - they just didn't want to waste a moment of the fun. Sledges, snowmen, snow balls, igloos and lots of fantastic cooperation as the children worked together, helped each other and were glad to be alive!
